About Us
Community National Bank is an independent community bank that opened June 17, 2002 in the city of Bellaire, Texas. It was established on the policy of giving personal, caring service to its customers. Everyone - the directors, officers, and employees - are dedicated to the bank providing the kind of service the customer wants and deserves.
Primarily a consumer and small business bank, Community National Bank is entirely capable of accommodating larger customers and businesses also. Each of the officers has been in banking for a number of years. Every officer has an open door" policy and is available to customers at any time without an appointment!
Community National Bank is a full service bank providing all the products and services customers expect from a bank and placing the emphasis on service. The bank has established a Community Club for customers aged 50 or over that provides banking, social and travel benefits to its members.
Board of Directors
C. Joe Chapman is a director of our bank. Mr. Chapman is a retired engineer. He ran his business, Key Engineering, from January 1980 until 1992. From 1987 until its sale in 2001, he served as a director of Citizens National Bank of Texas, Bellaire, Texas. Mr. Chapman holds a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Texas in Austin.
Randall W. Dobbs is Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Dobbs has over 27 years of experience in commercial banking. Mr. Dobbs served as an executive officer of Citizens National Bank of Texas, Bellaire, Texas and its successor bank, beginning in 1983. His position at Citizens National Bank immediately prior to its sale in January 2001 was Executive Vice President, Cashier, and Chief Operations Officer. He was also a director from 1997 until 2001. After Citizens National Bank was acquired, he served as Branch President from May 2001 to January 2002. He is a native Houstonian and attended the University of Houston.
James B. Earthman III is a director of our bank. Since 1995, Mr. Earthman has served as president and principal shareholder of Galveston Capital Corporation, Galveston, Texas, a commercial real estate development and management firm. Mr. Earthman served as a director of Citizens National Bank of Texas, Bellaire, Texas from 1983 until its sale in 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from University of Texas at Austin and a Juries Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law of Houston, Texas.
Lettie H. Harrell is a director of our bank. Ms. Harrell is an Architect with the firm of EDI Architecture of Houston, Texas. She was a director of First National Bank of Claude, Texas from 1996 until 1998. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas, Arlington.
Ray A. Howard is a director of our bank. Mr. Howard is a Certified Public Accountant. He has worked predominantly in the energy industry for 25 years. He is serving on the Mayor’s Leadership Advisory Council for the City of Sugar Land, Texas. Mr. Howard received his BBA Accounting degree from the Texas State University, San Marcos.
John M. James is President and a director of our bank. Mr. James served as Senior Vice President/Loan Officer of Citizens National Bank of Texas, Bellaire, and its successor bank from February 1993 to January 2002. He was employed by First City Texas N.A in various capacities from 1978 to 1992. Mr. James has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University.
Scott G. Kochran is a director of our bank. Mr. Kochran currently serves as President and Chairman of both Bellaire Tire and Automotive and Southwest Houston Tire Sales. He has been in the tire and automotive business for 35 years. He has served on the boards of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity,West University Little League,St. Thomas High School and Goodyear National Dealer Advisory. He majored in Business Administration and Psychology at the University of Houston.
Christopher C. Pappas is a director of our bank. Mr. Pappas is a managing partner of Godwin Pappas Langley Ronquillo, LLP. He is a founding shareholder of Dunn, Kacal, Adams, Pappas & Law, P.C. of Houston and a former shareholder of Wyckoff, Russell, Dunn & Frazier, P.C. He achieved his law degree from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
Bradley H. Marks is Vice President of I.W. Marks Jewelers, recognized in the industry as the largest independent jeweler in the greater Houston area. Mr. Marks oversees the buying, advertising, sales and community relations for the store. He is a member of the boards of the Society for the Performing Arts, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce. He is certified by the Gemological Institute of America and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University.
David E. Preng is Chairman of the Board. Mr. Preng is President and Chief Executive Officer of Preng & Associates, Inc., Houston, Texas, an executive search firm, which he founded in 1980. Since 1997, he has been a director of Remington Oil and Gas and is Chairman of the Compensation and Nomination & Governance committees. Mr. Preng served as a director of Citizens National Bank of Texas, Bellaire, for approximately 15 years prior to its sale in 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from DePaul University.
Stuart Schube is a director of our bank. Mr. Schube has been a venture capitalist in the Houston area since the early 1970’s. He is President of Acorn Ventures, Inc. a corporate planning and financing consulting firm that works with small to medium sized businesses. He is past president of the Houston Chapter of the American Marketing Association and the Association for Corporate Growth. He holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and a Master of Science in Industrial Administration degree from Purdue.
Joe E. Ives is Executive Vice President and is also an advisory director of our bank. Mr. Ives served as Senior Vice President/Commercial Lending Officer at Bank of Texas N.A. in Bellaire from 2001 to 2004. From 1984 to 2001, he was Executive Vice President and a director of Citizens National Bank of Texas, a Bank of Texas predecessor. Mr. Ives has over 40 years of banking experience.
